Accordion Tag card

A couple of weeks ago, Sharon from No Time to Stamp/Stamp Simply's weekly challenge was to do an accordion fold card and I decided to play along. I wasnt real thrilled with how mine turned out though is why I havent posted it yet, but now I am, lol. Here is is:

The letters 'JOY' were cut using my slice machine....I should use that thing more often, it really has some neat stuff on it! And then I stitched around each letter, hand stitched that is...that is one reason I decided to go ahead and post this after spending so much time on it, lol! I sponged like crazy to give it an antique look, and it also has some gold shimmer mist on it, which of course you cant see in this picture! Anyways, its kinda growing on me a bit...

And just a little update on Blake, my grandson....The xrays showed he had some backed up plumbing!! Extremely so! All the way to his stomach...I can only imagine how miserable he had to be! It just upsets me that it took 3 doctor visits to get the doctor to finally do something. They put him on Miralax, 3 doses for 2 days, then once a day for a week, and this Thursday he goes back to make sure it has moved on out like it should....and the 3rd day, he pooped about 10 times, lol. Sooo, hoping its moving like it should now...but still makes me wonder what made it do that in the first place....

ok, thats about all for now! Hope you had a wonderfully relaxing weekend. It's starting to rain here now, and I am hoping its gonna cool back off..this sure doesnt feel like its almost Thanksgiving!!

Gina K Design Special Release night--Calendar Bits and Pieces and Grid!

Howdy all and welcome to a special release night for Tami Mayberry's newest sets! And OH MY! What a HUGE set this is! You have everything you need right here in these sets to make ANY kind of card you want, not to mention a calendar for the whole year! But I chose to go with just making a card for tonight:

I stamped the grid onto the new kraft cardstock from Gina K Designs (LOVING IT!!) filled in the numbers as if it was a complete calendar page for this month, and used the oval line stamp to circle a particular date, which happens to be my daughters birthday here! All of the sentiments are from the set too, BAKOODLES of words to combine!! I have only just touched on the possibilities with this set...its like I have to write down my ideas or I will forget! LOL!

For some helpful tips on how to use the Calendar Bits & Pieces and Calendar Grid stamp sets, please be sure to check out Gina's blog and StampTV for a helpful video on just how quick and easy it can be to use! Both of these sets as well as the PDF version of the Calendar Grid image will be available for purchase tonight over on our online store.

After that, stop by our Illustrator's blog - Tami Mayberry for some projects with her timely stamp sets.

Here are the GinaK Designer Member's links who are joining us in the preview tonight:

You'll also want to check in on these CenterStage Spotlight Designer's blogs for more ideas:

Ok, I am off to enjoy the awesome eye candy on this set myself now too! Thanks for stopping by tonight!

Scarecrows! another little late card...lol!

I had colored this image like mid month last month, and didnt finish putting it into a card until after halloween actually, lol. Good for next year though, right?

Pretty simple card! I also used Nina Brackett's newest set Vintage Borders from Gina K Designs. This set is so much fun, many MANY possibilities!!

Well, that is all of the crafty stuff for today. If you can, say a little prayer for my grandson today...he is having a bunch of tests run through outpatient at the hospital..upper GI, more blood work, some x-rays and 2 other tests..not sure what those are yet...but anything like that is traumatic to a 3 yr old..heck for a 50 yr old they are too! If he isnt cooperative they will use anesthesia on him. He was crying this morning wanting his juice and says " we go to doctor already!" he means to go NOW to get it over with so he can have some juice, lol! I was going to go to the hospital this am, but my fever is up this am and dont want to pass my crud on to anybody...I dont feel that bad, just sinuses all stopped up and running fever! hoping it dont go to my ears like usual, lol!

I have created this for my daughter...I have spotlighted a couple of her favorite recipes here, and below is her ALL time favorite recipe, chicken spaghetti! (I will have this recipe typed out at the end of this post also.) Now, I have added my own stamps and embellishments, but the kit comes with everything you would need to create a keepsake album if you want though! The papers are just gorgeous in this kit, they just SCREAMED retro to me! LOVE that! And I gave everything an aged look by using distress inks and sponging the edges of EVERthing! LOL!

Now as part of the celebration CC&M will be having a great sale. For the next six days, we will offer 20% off the entire store!! But act quickly, it is only for six days – this sale will end on Nov 14th. Make sure you enter this code

As a continuing part of the celebration CC&M will of course give away great gifts. Each day we will give away one kit. Here is the twist – go through the blog hop, leave wonderful comments for the great designers. After you have finished the blog hop, return to DieCut Diva and instead of leaving a comment, you need to share a recipe to have a chance at winning the kit. I am so looking forward to seeing some awesome recipes! And dont forget, tomorrow starting on the diecut Diva blog will be another hop ..." Beate's weekend sketch, only a week late, lol!

I did this card this past week, (not from THIS Friday, but LAST Friday!) following Beate's weekend sketch she does each Friday, I believe is when she puts it up. I am only late by a day or two, not too bad, lol! Here is my kinda CAS card:

I really loved the sketch for this one, WSC104, fun one! You can't tell in the picture, but the white on the leaves and the word Thanks have the glaze pen over them, it makes it look like they have been embossed to me. I used the new leather cardstock from Gina K Designs that I just LOVE, and loving the new kraft cardstock too! I will have cards with it later for sure!

Also, tomorrow at 10am CST, I will be participating in the Treasured Recipe Blog Hop hosted by Creative Cuts & More! I am SUPER excited to show you what I have created! I am so tickled how it turned out! AND I cant wait to see what all the other designers have come up with and seeing what recipes they will be sharing too! This time of year always puts me in the cooking mood! So be sure and check back tomorrow for that!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Hope is everything

I meant to get this posted before October was over, for breast cancer awareness...I guess one day late not TOO bad, lol. There is a commercial on TV, about a cancer treatment center and one of the patients says 'hope is everything' and that says alot to me! Not only in the fight for cancer, but in so many other things in our life! So that is what inspired these cards, made 2 since I had the cardstock already out!

This card follows a sketch from SCS, from about 2 weeks ago I believe also.

And the pink color IRL really does match, where I colored a bit on the stamped image, but in the photos it looks totally different...dont ya hate when that happens? LOL! And Ya'll dont think I am nuts, but this stamp set, I have NO clue who it is by. This was one of the stamp sets I won when I won on a Moxie World Challenge awhile back and I had taken it out of the package and put into some Gina K Storage binders and didnt say the name or anything! BAD me! so if anybody knows the name of the stamp set, email me pretty please!

Well, I hope everyone had a safe and fun Hallowe'en if you celebrate that. We did not get a single trick or treater. And I couldnt believe it! Well come to find out our porch light was burned out, lol! But I dont think as many were out this year, due to the flu...them warning in the news like they have been. (which dont even get me started on how the media is sensationalizing the Swine Flu, lol!) Anyways, was a really quiet night here. I didnt even get to see Blake, my grandson.....:( But did get to see pics of him dressed up that my daughter took before she took him around to a few houses. Here he is as a Ninja! And he loves saying Hiiiiiiiiya!!! haha!!

Ok, that's all from me for now! I got quite a few more pics of cards I havent posted on my blog from the release party this past Thursday night...maybe I will post one of them later, lol! Have a wonderful relaxing Sunday ya'll!!
